Updated October 3, 2026. This policy describes the currently reviewed development builds. Store listings and this page will be reviewed again before each public release.
Products covered
This policy covers the reviewed development and private-test builds of:
- Recall
- Match/Decision
- Brain Chaos
- Critter Clutter
- Night Shift Sort
Hardly Notable also has future products in development. Those products are not presented as publicly available, and their disclosures will be confirmed before release.
Product Lens is a separate website tool. Its handling of ideas, optional handoffs, and any AI processing is described in the Product Lens privacy details.
Current data practices
The reviewed builds do not use advertising networks, analytics services, tracking technologies, or user accounts. Hardly Notable LLC does not sell personal information or use app activity to track people across apps or websites.
Information stored on your device
Some apps store game progress, scores, unlocked rewards, preferences, reminders, lists, or other user-entered content locally on the device so the app can remember the experience. Removing an app may remove its locally stored information.
Night Shift Sort
The current private-test build stores progress, coins, records, and sound, haptic, and Reduce Motion preferences locally on your device. It does not require an account and has no active advertising, purchases, analytics, or gameplay-data uploads. Its sound effects play locally; this build does not record audio or request microphone access.
Uninstalling the app removes its local app data. Web-preview progress is stored in the browser’s site storage and can be removed through the browser’s site-data controls. Device or browser backup services may retain their own copies. Browser previews also contact the server hosting the preview; this is separate from uploading gameplay data.
Match/Decision — Two Phones mode
Same Phone mode operates entirely on the device. Two Phones mode sends an anonymous temporary session code, anonymous seat credentials, the shared choice deck, and each participant’s choices to Hardly Notable’s service over HTTPS so the app can calculate mutual matches. The service does not require a name, email address, phone number, account, contact list, or precise location.
Individual choices are erased after the match is calculated or the session is cancelled. Incomplete sessions expire after two hours. Hosting-provider security logs and backups may have separate limited retention. This temporary session information is used only to provide the matching feature; it is not sold, used for advertising, or used for tracking.
Photos and device features
If a future released app lets a user select a photo or use another device feature, access will occur only after the user chooses that feature and grants the permission requested by the operating system. The applicable app listing and this policy will be updated before release to describe any such handling.
Support messages
If you choose to email support, your email service sends the message and any attachments you include. Share only information needed to explain the issue. The apps do not send support messages automatically.
Children’s privacy
The reviewed builds do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Match/Decision’s Two Phones mode should not be used to submit personal information.
Retention and deletion
Locally stored information remains until it is removed by the user, the app, or the operating system. Match/Decision users can cancel an active Two Phones session; individual choices are erased after matching or cancellation, and incomplete sessions expire after two hours.
Future features
Before any app adds advertising, analytics, purchases, accounts, cloud storage, or other functionality that changes data handling, its disclosures and this policy will be reviewed and updated.
